Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 9.8% compared to 2009, reaching 5.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.4%.

Ireland ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 103.9% (from 2.8% in 2005).
