Main indicators - share of renewable energy

In 2016, Ireland's main indicators increased by 1.2% compared to 2015, reaching 9.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 18.0%.

Ireland ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 39.1% (from 6.6% in 2011).
