Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2021, Ireland's unemployment by sex and age increased by 5.1% compared to 2020, reaching 6.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.1%.

Ireland ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 26.2% (from 8.4% in 2016).
