In 2025, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 0.5% compared to 2024, reaching 19.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.1%.

Italy ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.2% (from 21.1% in 2020).
