At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2016, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 4.7% compared to 2015, reaching 19.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Italy ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.2% (from 18.4% in 2011).
