In 2022, Italy's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 20.4% compared to 2021, reaching 844,086.

Italy ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 21.1% (from 1,069,965 in 2017).
