Fertility indicators

In 1999, Italy's fertility indicators increased by 0.8% compared to 1998, reaching 1.23.

Italy ranks 21st out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.7% (from 1.21 in 1994).
