Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2010, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 1.9% compared to 2009, reaching 13.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.4%.

Italy ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 72.5% (from 7.5% in 2005).
