Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2014, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 7.2% compared to 2013, reaching 5.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 6.6%.

Italy ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 25.5% (from 4.0% in 2009).
