Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2009, Latvia's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 15.1% compared to 2008, reaching 34.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 13.9%.

Latvia ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.6% (from 32.8% in 2004).
