In 2024, Latvia's students enrolled in tertiary education by education level, programme orientation, sex and field of education decreased by 1.8% compared to 2023, reaching 74,017.

Latvia accounts for 0.4% of the EU-27 total of 19,065,264.

Latvia ranks 21st out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.9% (from 80,355 in 2019).
