In 2024, Lithuania's students enrolled in tertiary education by education level, programme orientation, sex and field of education decreased by 2.1% compared to 2023, reaching 100,744.

Lithuania accounts for 0.5% of the EU-27 total of 19,065,264.

Lithuania ranks 19th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.9% (from 111,768 in 2019).
