In 2005, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex stood at 14.8%.

Malta ranks 12th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.3% (from 15.0% in 2000).
