At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2025, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 9.6% compared to 2024, reaching 17.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.1%.

Malta ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.1% (from 18.3% in 2020).
