In 2020, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 34.2% compared to 2019, reaching 3,414.

Malta ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 53.7% (from 7,370 in 2015).
