Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 1991, Malta's population change increased by 1.3% compared to 1990, reaching 7.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.4.

Malta ranks 26th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.8% (from 8.3 in 1986).
