Population structure indicators at national level

In 2012, Malta's population structure indicators at national level increased by 0.7% compared to 2011, reaching 40.4.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 41.9.

Malta ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.6% (from 39.0 in 2007).
