Population structure indicators at national level

In 2022, Malta's population structure indicators at national level increased by 0.7% compared to 2021, reaching 40.5.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 44.4.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.2% (from 40.6 in 2017).
