Population structure indicators at national level

In 2023, Malta's population structure indicators at national level decreased by 2.4% compared to 2022, reaching 28.8.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 36.4.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.7% (from 29.6 in 2018).
