Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2022, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 11.2% compared to 2021, reaching 14.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 23.0%.

Malta ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 94.5% (from 7.2% in 2017).
