Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2023, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 10.0% compared to 2022, reaching 15.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 24.6%.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 95.1% (from 7.9% in 2018).
