Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 0.7% compared to 2020, reaching 10.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 9.1%.

Malta ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 99.6% (from 5.3% in 2016).
