Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 8.1% compared to 2020, reaching 9.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 9.1%.

Italy ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 33.1% (from 7.4% in 2016).
