Employment rates by educational attainment level

In 2021, Malta's employment rates by educational attainment level increased by 0.8% compared to 2020, reaching 89.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 86.5%.

Malta ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.5% (from 90.6% in 2016).
