Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2023, Malta's unemployment by sex and age increased by 2.2% compared to 2022, reaching 9.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.6%.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.1% (from 9.4% in 2018).
