Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2009, Poland's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 6.7% compared to 2008, reaching 49.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.7%.

Poland ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.7% (from 44.9% in 2004).
