At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2016, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 3.2% compared to 2015, reaching 18.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Portugal ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.4% (from 17.6% in 2011).
