Fertility indicators

In 1990, Portugal's fertility indicators decreased by 0.6% compared to 1989, reaching 1.56.

Portugal ranks 18th out of 23 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.3% (from 1.72 in 1985).
