Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Portugal's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 3.0% compared to 2018, reaching 53.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 34.1%.

Portugal ranks 4th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.3% (from 52.1% in 2014).
