Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2019, Portugal's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 8.3% compared to 2018, reaching 6.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 6.8%.

Portugal ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 54.8% (from 14.6% in 2014).
