Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2021, Portugal's unemployment by sex and age increased by 4.5% compared to 2020, reaching 23.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Portugal ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 15.8% (from 27.8% in 2016).
