Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2021, Romania's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 2.8% compared to 2020, reaching 21.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Romania ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 18.9% (from 25.9% in 2016).
