Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Romania's employment rates by citizenship increased by 1.8% compared to 2023, reaching 55.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 66.2%.

Romania ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.6% (from 56.8% in 2019).
