In 2021, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 1.1% compared to 2020, reaching 26,016.

Romania ranks 11th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.8% (from 27,332 in 2016).
