Life expectancy by age and sex

In 1997, Slovakia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.1% compared to 1996, reaching 68.9.

Slovakia ranks 18th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.7% (from 67.1 in 1992).
