In 2024, Slovakia's students enrolled in tertiary education by education level, programme orientation, sex and field of education increased by 1.0% compared to 2023, reaching 141,119.

Slovakia accounts for 0.7% of the EU-27 total of 19,065,264.

Slovakia ranks 18th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.2% (from 140,809 in 2019).
