Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2007, Spain's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 8.5% compared to 2006, reaching 35.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 62.4%.

Spain ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 30.3% (from 51.2% in 2002).
