Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2007, Sweden's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 10.5% compared to 2006, reaching 39.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 62.4%.

Sweden ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 21.1% (from 49.8% in 2002).
