Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Austria's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.4% compared to 2024, reaching 71.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 66.6%.

Austria ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.0% (from 68.3% in 2020).
