Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2024, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 0.3% compared to 2023, reaching 31.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 47.5%.

Belgium ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 50.2% (from 20.8% in 2019).
