Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2018, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 1.1% compared to 2017, reaching 6.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.3%.

Belgium ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 31.9% (from 5.1% in 2013).
