Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Belgium's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 1.6% compared to 2018, reaching 6.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.8%.

Belgium ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 16.6% (from 5.8% in 2014).
