Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Luxembourg's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 16.8% compared to 2018, reaching 7.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.8%.

Luxembourg ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 38.9% (from 5.6% in 2014).
