At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 7.4% compared to 2020, reaching 23.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.5%.

Bulgaria ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.8% (from 24.1% in 2016).
