At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2021, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.9% compared to 2020, reaching 20.7%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.5%.

Italy ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.3% (from 21.4% in 2016).
