At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 4.9% compared to 2020, reaching 23.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.5%.

Romania ranks 3rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.9% (from 25.7% in 2016).
