Fertility indicators

In 1999, Bulgaria's fertility indicators increased by 10.8% compared to 1998, reaching 1.23.

Bulgaria ranks 20th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 10.2% (from 1.37 in 1994).
