Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Bulgaria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 5.2% compared to 2018, reaching 23.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 34.1%.

Bulgaria ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 25.8% (from 18.7% in 2014).
