In 2016, Cyprus's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 13.0% compared to 2015, reaching 1,721.

Cyprus ranks 23rd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 49.7% (from 3,422 in 2011).
