Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, France's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 10.9% compared to 2019, reaching 24.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.4%.

France ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 31.9% (from 18.8% in 2015).
